Bina was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. She is Korean and has always been a lover of “K-Everything” with most influence from her mother who immigrated from Korea before she was born. She has always watched K-dramas and listened to Korean songs, which is definitely where she got her love for it from. Her memories of watching K-dramas go far back and she’s been watching them since she was very young, with memories of a lot of older Korean actors and K-dramas that many people have never heard of!

She graduated from the University of Toronto and specialized in English Literature which translates well for a website like this one! It wasn’t until years after that fate knocked on her door and a friend of hers had sent a job posting for Soompi. She thought the idea of combining her love for Korean culture and education background was a perfect fit, so she applied. Shortly after, she received an offer and has been working for them ever since as a Featured Writer. 

During her Soompi career, she was also able to write a book with Skyhorse Publishing in New York titled “K-POP A To Z: The Definitive K-Pop Encyclopedia” and this is available for sale on Amazon and in other various bookstores. She also launched this website where she could have an outlet to share all that she loves about the Korean culture – K-dramas, K-celebrities, K-Pop, K-beauty, and even the food. It’s an outlet where she’s able to share a big part of herself and she hopes that others will find it a place where they can get excited about the culture too.
